February 2011

Feb 4-6 – Winter Retreat – Camp Samac Adventure Base, Haliburton (Cabin) – share program with Scout troop.
Feb 7 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5.
Feb 14 – Laser X-treme, 44 Bond St E, Oshawa, $10 7:30-9:00 bring a friend
Feb 18 – DDSB PA Day
Feb 19-20 - Standard First Aid Course  9-5 two days $35, Camp Samac board room beside the Scout Shop. Register with Renate. (Tim, Sean, Tyler)
Feb 21 – Family Day Monday (no meeting)
Feb 27 – Scout Banquet at Camp Samac Council Hall (north entrance). 5:00 – 7:30. Set up at 4:00. All sections share in the celebration of our founder’s birthday Lord Baden-Powell
Feb 28 – Program Night – present

March 2011

Mar 7 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5.
Mar 11-18 School Break week – no meeting
Mar 21 – (tentative)
Whirly Ball at Sherway Gardens Mississauga. $20 each
Mar 25-26 – Venturer Vehicles, Port Perry Scout House, overnight, snack, breakfast, race at 11:00 am. $5 plus car kit (you buy from Samac Scout Shop).
Mar 28 –
Games Night at St Andrew’s, 7:30-9:00 pm.

April 2011

Apr 2 – Road Clean up, 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Shoppers Drug Mart, 3500 Brock St N., Whitby. Bring work gloves, boots. Pizza or hot dogs following clean up. Community Service Hours!
Apr 2 – Gilwell Scouts Dance – age 19+ (for parents and friends of Scouting) $12.50 each, Whitby Legion, 133 Byron St South, Whitby. Door prizes, late buffet lunch. Get ticket from Scouter Brian Wick.
Apr 4 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5. Mid-range planning for rest of school year and summer months. Bring ideas.
Apr 8 – to be arranged (
Laser X-treme ALL- NIGHTER, organized by 21st Oshawa Scout Troop, 9:00 pm – 3:00 am, $24)

Program Night, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00 (Personal Awards - presentations, Canadian Trails Award)
Apr 15-17 – Camp Weekend – WHAT Camp, Guelph Camp Barber, Ontario $35, meet at Brian’s, 711 Rossland Rd E, 6:30 pm departure (Tyler, Matthew, Sean, Nick, John W, Evan?,  Rebecca, Danielle, John D, Donovan, Brad)
Apr 17 – Scoutrees fundraising – sell saplings at SuperStore, Sobey’s (morning 9-12) $5 each, Senior youth PLANTING 3 pm at Lynde Shores (Halls Road South)
Apr 18 – 6:30pm
Going Up Ceremony for youth in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers, St. Andrew’s – FULL UNIFORM REQUIRED.
Apr 18 – 7:30pm –
Linking Activity with 8th Ajax Scouts – mock business meeting, continue planning Whitby’s WWWW, ready to promote to others.
April 25 – Easter Monday – no meeting
Apr 29-May 1 –
All Sections Camp at Ganaraska Forest Centre, $20 each. Assist with younger youth with games, badge activities, etc. Qualifies for Community Service Hours! (Evan, Tim, John, Tyler, Liam, Sean, Nick, Patrick)ations by Liam and Colin related to badge achievements. (St Andrew’s 7:30 -9:00)

May 2011

May 2 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5.
May 9 – The Outdoorsman Award: Section 3. b. v) take part in a 5 km cross country hike that requires 15 separate changes of direction in less than 60 minutes.
May 14 – Scoutrees planting day – Jack Wilson Park, Anderson St. two blocks north of Rossland Rd. 9:00 – noon.
May 16 – The Outdoorsman Award: Section 3. b. i) Learn the Axe & knife, care, sharpening, handling etc.
May 23 – Victoria Day Monday
(May 27-29 – Highpoint Camp for Venturers at Orangeville.) not attending
May 27-29 – Whitby Area Cuboree Weekend
at Willowgrove Outdoor Education Centre, 11737 McCowan Road, Stouffville, Ontario, (Nick, Colin, Patrick, Matthew)

EPIC Venturee – Water Gun Battle – all weekend, 24 hour continuous water wide game, Camp Samac Lakeland Campsite, $12 + food. (Organized by 1st Whitby Venturers).
Jul 18–Aug 3 – Czech bus excursion to (22nd World Scout Jamboree Sweden 2011).

August 2011

Aug 5 – Community Clean Up, 6:00 – 7:30 at McLean Community Centre in Ajax. Bring work gloves and water. (Arranged by Mina & Injy)
Aug 8 –
Whirly Ball – Meet at St Andrew’s, 209 Cochrane St, 6:15. Event is at 7:30 in Etobicoke. $20 each.

This activity is not supervised by adult leaders. This is a youth challenge. Those going need to discuss the ground rules at Laser X-treme.
Sep 19 – Business Meeting, elections for new executive, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5. Investiture of Riley.
