JOTA weekend at Mosport Park Speedway

1st Whitby Venturers enjoy a sunny October afternoon - JOTA camp 2008

Ben's Perspective:

1st Whitby Venturers had a Fantasmic time at the 51st White Pine Council Jamboree On The Air camp. First, we got lost twice on the way to JOTA, because R Dog's co-pilot Rebecca is numb and doesn’t know how to read directions. When we got there we set up the tents and nothing interesting happened.

Then on Saturday we awoke to a very ugly monster shaking our tent. After slaying this beast, John and myself emerged from our steamy tent of love. We then went and set up the tent for the tuck shop so the sweaty weird Scouts with lots of money can get high off sugar.

Any who we chillaxed until Karaoke, then Ben being the hot chuck of man love that he is, was told that a smoking hot chick has the hots for him, but let’s be honest who doesn’t?

Anyway after that John and Ben brought tears of joy to our eyes after singing Lola, then we ate an incredible meal that the master chef Ben prepared. After we ate a ROCKING AWESOME band played, and we rocked out to that under Ben’s sleeping bag. Then we all slept in Chris’s tent and woke up and got home.

Megan’s Perspective:

It was a lovely fall day and the meeting place "aka Brian’s apartment" was packed with Rebecca, Ben, Megan, and Andrew. We started our drive to Mosport . Ben!!! got us lost and Megan found out that going on the highway late at night is very traumatic for a newly licenced G2 driver. After many wrong turns by, cough, "Ben" we arrived and met Katrina, Joe, Chad and Cameron :).

We set up our awesome tents and partied the night away..../ slept the night away. The next morning the “oh so lovely” firemen arrives and the tuck shop was opened; mmmm food! A car crash, Med Vents, karaoke "LOLA" and many other awesome things (zip line :S) were offered there too. There were many awesome cars that were going around the Mosport Racetrack.

We had sloppy Joes for dinner. Then “A Table For Two,” droolllll, came and played many great songs while we huddled for warmth. After they were done, 7 people piled into a 3 person tent and slept.... others slept alone! The next morning we awoke to Renate making coffee :) and the 2 inches of frost that had recently covered the floor... not to mention the so called person outline in the frost......

Oct 17-19 - JOTA 2008, Mosport Park Speedway, Gate 7, Bowmanville, Ontario.
