Jan 15 - Games Night, at O'Grady's, foose ball, billiards, dance machine, hot tub open if you bring a bathing suit.

February 2007

Feb 2-4 Midland Mid-Winter Mini-Moot, Midland, ON. $25 Indoor sleeping.
Feb 5 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM (presentations), dues $5
Feb 12 - Program Night, preparation for soapbox car building, layout plans for Canadian Trails Award.
Feb 19 - Putting Edge, Invite a friend! 7:30-9:00
Feb 25 - Baden-Powell Banquet, 100th Anniversary Celebration, St Andrew's Church Hall. Spaghetti, hot dogs, salad, garlic bread. 5-7.
Feb 26 - Snowboarding-Skiing at Lakeridge Ski Resort, Uxbridge. 5:45pm til close.

March 2007

Mar 5 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM (presentations), dues $5
Mar 19 - Billiards at Partner's, 1916 Dundas St East, corner of Dundas and Garrard behind the plaza. 7:30-9:00, $7 each.
Mar 23-25 - Ottawa Museums, War Museum, IMAX screening of "300" and other evening activities. Housing at the Ottawa Jail Hostel. $75 (shared room, bedding, meals, transportation and entrance fees). Maximum of 12 participants. Museums open 9-5. Departure 5pm, Star Burger, Brock St north at Manning Rd. Bring money for dinner on the way.

April 2007

Apr 2 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM (presentations), dues $5, Ben's investiture
Apr 4 (Wed) - Class Act Dinner Theatre, KanderJam fundraiser. Tickets are $55 and include full buffet dinner and theatre presentation of "My Husband's Wild Desires Almost Drove Me Mad" by John Tobias. We need silent auction items, chaperones to hang coats, sell 50/50 tickets etc. Please sign up. 5:30-10:30. (Helpers: Ryan, Megan, John, Molly)
Apr 6 (Good Friday) - Day Hike, bring a backpack with no more than 5 kg contents. Departure Brian's 9am, return for supper. Bring a pack lunch.
Apr 9 - Easter Monday -no meeting
Apr 13-15 - Brant District Venturee, Ayr, ON. $35, depart Brian's 6pm. (John, Charlie, Ryan, Donovan, Ben, Roger, Megan, Katrina, Molly, Keith, Brian)
Apr 16 - see Wednesday (no meeting)
Apr 18 (Wed) - Going Up, Campfire, Weiner Roast, Camp Samac, Kitchie Lodge, 6-8pm, Venturers prepare food and fire for group.
Apr 21 (Sat) - Scout Trees, Planting Day, 9:45-11am. Meet at Thickson Point, Thickson Rd and Lake Ontario. This year's project is to plant a Centennial Grove, a circle of 100 trees that are about 1m tall
Apr 22 (Sun) - Medieval Times, Exhibition Place, Toronto, (2:30-6pm) Dinner and showtime 4pm. (Dinner: soup, half chicken, rib, baked potato, garlic bread, dessert, pop & coffee.)
Apr 23 - Debate Night, 7:30-9:00, St. Andrew's.
Apr 30 - Rock Oasis Climbing, $15, indoors at Ajax Community Centre, 7-9:30, wear soft shoes and long pants that won't bind (lightweight or stretchy is better), price includes entrance fee and harness rental. One of the activities we have signed up for at KanderJam is outdoor climbing. Some practice before we go is very important. Soapbox car plans due.

May 2007

May 5-6 - Postponed, Wilderness Hike (overnight) Discover and start the adventure at Singhampton Caves. Travel north along the Bruce Trail to Pretty Valley Creek and north into the provincial park to the highest point on the Bruce Trail. Camp overnight on the cliffs and return by the alternative path. Depart Saturday morning 8 am, Brian's, 711 Rossland Rd E. $15 (return on Sunday late afternoon.
May 7 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM (presentations), dues $5
May 11-13 - Mystery Moot, Heber Down Conservation Area. $30. Meet at campsite 7:30pm to set up camp.
May 14 - Archery at Camp Samac Range 7-9
May 21 - Victoria Day Monday - no meeting
May 28 - Build a Soapbox Car. (1mX2mX1m) Meet at 7:30 at the home of John. His father has offered the use of the back porch and some tools. 884 White Ash Dr. We should be finished by 9:00. Please bring your plans. Brian will supply wheels and some building materials.

Jun 2007

Jun 4 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, ELECTION OF OFFICERS (president, vice-president membership, secretary, treasurer, quartermaster, historian), dues $5
Jun 8-9 (Fri-Sat) - White Pine Rover Derby, soap box style car to be constructed during Friday evening. Race heats from 9am-4pm. Camp Samac, Beaver Lodge.
Jun 11 - Laser Extreme 7:30-9:00 Ben won the first 2 rounds. Congratulations!
Jun 18 - Kanderjam information night for parents and participants, at St. Andrew's. 7:30-9:00 Here is a chance to get your questions answered about our plans, what to pack, and generally how to prepare for the adventure ahead.

Jun 28 (Thur) - First Aid Re-Certification (Red Cross), 12:15pm-5pm, Brooklin Memorial Arena, $55 each if re-certifying (valid for 3 years). A full day course is also offered if you have not taken 1st Aid before. 9:00am - 5pm $105. You must bring your own lunch and drinks for break. You should take this course for Switzerland and must be current for Queens Venturer Award. (Re-Cert: Donovan, Molly, Keith; Full-Cert: Megan, Ryan)

July 2007

Jul 9 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00,
Jul 14 - Day Hike, Discover Toronto as we venture in on the GO train and experience hopping on and off the TTC subway and trams, an exercise to prepare for transportation in Milano. Depart Saturday 8:47am, Whitby GO Train station. $10, pack a lunch, return in time for supper (arrival 5:01 pm).
Jul 16 - Kanderjam Gathering with Oshawa, Ajax, Toronto guys at the Holliday Farm. 6-9 pm. BBQ provided, bring a treat or snack to share.
Jul 23 - Bowling at Leisure Lanes, 728 Champlain Ave. 7:30 - 9:30 pm. $6 (3 games)
Jul 26-Aug 12 - Kanderjam, Swiss Jamboree at the International Scout Camp Kandersteg, Switzerland. This takes place during the 100th anniversary celebrations for Scouting around the world. Sep 17 - "Guitar Hero" at Jamie's, bring additional equipment if you have it.
Sep 11-23 - Bulb Sales, return forms by the 24th.
Sep 24 - Movies, "Resident Evil: Extinction". $7.50 admission and I might have some 2 for 1 coupons. Early show at Ajax Cineplex (showtime 7:35pm) Meet at 7:25. Pick up time 9:10pm.
Sep 28-30 - 2007 Brotherhood Camporee, Morrisburg, ON. Badge Trading extravaganza. $30. Car pooling. Departure Brian's about 4:15pm, returning Sunday about 2pm.

October 2007

Oct 1 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5
Oct 1-22 - Trails End Popcorn, return forms by the 22nd. No extensions!
Oct 8 - No meeting - Thanksgiving
Oct 13-14 - Apple Day, volunteers needed for retail outlets.
Oct 13 - Outdoor Survival Skills Course at Camp Samac, north parking lot. $10. 9am-5pm. Bring knife, lunch, personal survival kit. You must be registered by Oct 10th to attend this. Call Brian 905-922-5678.
Oct 14 - Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland, $31.26. Park opens 7 pm. Leave the park at 10:30pm.
Oct 15 - Prepare for RoVent. View the movie "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" (1993) so you know what the weekend game is all about.
Oct 19-21 - RoVent Medieval Tournament, Theme is "Robin Hood", OpeMikon Campsite, Perth. $30 Megan, Katrina, Aditya, Donovan, Jamie, Andrew, Ryan, David, John, Molly, Ben, Brian, Renate
Oct 23-22 - Popcorn Sales, return forms by the 22th.

November 2007

Nov 11 - Remembrance Day Parade, Dundas & Brock Sts. 10:30am. Refreshments at the Legion Hall, Byron St & Dundas, following the ceremony. (David, John.)
Nov 12 - Putting Edge, AMC Complex 7:30-9:00, bring a friend. (John to call and book it.)
Nov 17 - Council Rock / Brownsea Island, 9-5 pm. Assist program for Beaver Keeos at Camp Samac
Nov 19 - Card Game at Molly's, 3663 Cochrane St. 7:00-9:00
Nov 24-25 - Hike on the Bruce Trail, Singhampton Caves to Pretty Valley Creek Provincial Park, and the highest point on the Bruce, near Collingwood. $10 Depart Saturday morning 8:00 am, return for Saturday supper. Hike distance is 12 km and takes about 4 hours. Prepare yourself with lightweight but warm clothes, hiking boots, rain gear and layers. You will need to leave room in your backpack for food, lightweight cooking equipment, to be allocated depending on participation. (cancelled).
Nov 26 - Spoons (wide game) against 21st Oshawa. Camp Samac north field. 7-9 (Katrina to confirm with 21st Oshawa) Note: this is a physical activity so come prepared and dress appropriately for the weather!
Nov 30 - Build Parade Float, 7-8 pm. Location: home of Akela (Bernard Loken) 32 Butterfield Cres. (off Glen Dhu, just north of Rossland off Anderson St.) 2007 Santa Claus Parade 1st Whitby float design

December 2007

Dec 1 - Whitby Jaycees Santa Claus Parade, walk with float along the parade route with Beavers and Cubs. 9:30-noon. See attached flyer for meeting details.

Dec 3 - Business Meeting, (investiture of Aidan) St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, uniform, Dues $5 (Exec meet at 7)
Dec 10 - Glow-Stick Tag, Heber Down Conservation Area. Meet at gate on Conlin & Country Lane. 7-9. Dress for the weather! (Swim-changed)
Dec 17 - Christmas Party at John's 884 White Ash Dr. Bring a Secret Santa gift between $20-$30. These will be randomly allocated. Bring Christmas cookies, treats, pop, etc. 7-9pm
Dec 24 - Merry Christmas
Dec 31 - New Years Eve at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto. Spectacular concert televised nationwide, fireworks, etc. 7:30pm - midnight. Meet at Brian's. (Return home about 1:30 am.)
