Apr 28-30 - Opemikon Work Weekend Camp, Camp Opemikon (near Perth), $40, Departure Brian's, 711 Rossland Rd E at 6pm. Camp site at Upper Orchard with large dining shelter, picnic tables and campfire circle. Sleeping in tents.
Apr 30 - Preliminary canoe orientation for White Water course May 26-28, Camp Opemikon, Westport, ON,Class 1 White Water training course to take place at the end of May on the Big Eddy, Petawawa River. (John, Molly, Roger, Stephanie, Andrew, Jamie, Donovan, Ryan O., Megan, Keith E.)

May 2006

May 26-28 - White Water Canoeing training weekend, class 1 rapids, Petawawa. (John, Molly, Roger, Donovan, Stephanie, Andrew, Amy, Megan, Ryan O., Roderic, Keith E., Selena)

June 2006

Jun 5 - North End Bowl, go carts, games etc. Bring money! 7:30-9pm
Jun 12 - Hike the Rouge Valley, starting point north side of Hwy 2, west side of bridge. Travel north for an hour or so on this incredibly unique natural land feature. Explore one of the GTA's most environmentally sensitive areas while spotting birds and wildlife along the was. (Rated as an easy trail.) Bring some GORP and water. 7pm - dusk.
Jun 19 - (No Meeting) Exams (All Saints): June 22-28
Jun 26 - Pool party at Siobhan's. Bring swim suit, towel, pool toys and snacks to share. During the break session, we will discover techniques for survival camping or survival in the woods if lost. 6:30 - 9:30

July 2006

Jul 3 - Business Meeting, 7:30-9:00, St. Andrew's, program planning, dues for the month $5
Jul 13 (Thurs) - Meet Austrian Scouts, Camp Samac Oshawa at 6:30 in the north parking lot of Samac (near shooting range) visiting Their native tongue is German but they can speak and understand English reasonably well.
Jul 15-16 (Sat-Sun) - Austrian Scouts, camping at Samac Adventure Base in Haliburton. Join in on the activities including water craft, pioneering, campfire, cultural experience. $25 for camping and food.
Jul 24 - "Survival Orientation" information session.
Jul 28-30 - Survival Weekend Cancelled

August 2006

Aug 1 (Tues)- Canada's Wonderland
Aug 8 - Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles. Game time 7:07pm.
Aug 21 - Preparation for Canoe Trip, packing, equipment, study maps and menu plan. St Andrew's 7:30-9:00.

Aug 24-26 - Canoe Trip - Eels Creek, slow moving water and only one portage takes us to Stoney Lake north of Peterborough. $25 includes food, canoe rental and transportation. Bring PFD and paddle, knee pads, water clothes and polyester light weight materials that dry quickly. (Brian, Greg, Sam, John, Brendan)
Aug 28 - Manhunt/Capture the Flag at Heber Down Conservation Area, meet in the parking area north of Conlins through the main gate, 7-9. Bring drinking water, bug spray and small flashlight.

September 2006

Sep 6 (Wed) - Registration due, $145.00 payable to 1st Whitby Scouts.
Sep 11 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM, dues $5,
Sep 18 - Movie at Smith's, Monty Python's "Holy Grail"
Sep 25 - Camping skills presentation, navigation, packing, fire building, etc., led by Katrina and Greg, St. Andrew's 7:30-9:00
Sep 29-Oct 1 - Brotherhood Camporee, Wellesley Island, NY, 5:00pm. $45. This is the premiere badge trading camp and an excellent opportunity to prepare for a foreign trip next year.

October 2006

The guys at Brotherhood Badge Trading Camporee at Wellesley Island, NY Oct - Scout Popcorn, fill your form with orders and hand in to Brian.
Oct 2 - Business Meeting, St Andrews, 7:30-9:00, UNIFORM (presentations), dues $5, Prepare for weekend hike Oct 13-15th. Election night for executive, President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Quartermaster.
Oct 9 - (Thanksgiving)
Oct 14-15 - Apple Day weekend. Assistance may be needed at retail locations.
Oct 16 - Flour bomb activity at Heydenshore Park, Brock St south at Lake Ontario. 7:00-8:30pm. Bring supplies, over-clothes to get dirty and change of clothes for the ride home.
Oct 20-22/06 OPE RoVent Medieval Moot - Opemikon, Perth Ontario. This weekend will bring the Rovers and Venturers together for the weekend to discover a very different kind of camp.
Oct 23 - Map & Compass module - use of GPS and other tools to find your way. Michael Cammock or Durham GPS will be there on Monday with a few GPS units.
